As mentioned in our last newsletter Luke Wieneke and Elizabeth White starting kindergarten. We've foundthat since then that Luke will be attending St. Peter's in Lorain and Elizabeth will be attending Holy Trinity here in Avon. We'll be seeing Elizabeth and Kylie during school closings throughout the school year.

It's hard to believe that our babies are growing up so fast. Zy'Aire Marn and Braylen Leuenhagen will be moving up to our toddler group.

Intergenerational Choir Concert

For the first time The Avon Oaks Singing Folks joined voices with our Acorn Child Care Center's little voices. Elizabeth White, Kylie Stilgenbauer, William White, Katrina Joyce, and Allie Stilgenbauer are all pre-schoolers enrolled in our Acorn Child Care Center.

All five children have been attending choir practice under the direction of Mary Lou Barrett our music therapist since April.

The Acorn Child Care Center has been serving the community since 1985. We were one of the first daycare centers in Ohio to have an intergenerational program. Intergenerational Child Care is based on the premise that it is natural for children to encounter people of all ages as they grow and to participate in activities with them. Our residents have a wealth of experience and love to share with our children. The babies, toddlers and children enrich our residents lives with naïve innocence and playfulness that at times we often overlook or take for granted.

The Acorn Child Care Center provides care for Children; Infants through School age. The Center is open from 5:45am - 6pm, Monday - Friday. A hot lunch is provided as well as two nutritional snacks each day. Call Mary Montanez at 440-934-5709.
